The movement of the film has published the trailer for My sunThe last of the Japanese director Hiroshi Okuyamaknown for Jesus and Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko house.
This delicious -looking film was screened at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and was quietly won hearts through the Festival circuit.
Set during a quiet winter on the island of Hokkaido, the story follows Takuya, a boy who is seen as the weakest link in his hockey team, until he is fascinating by Sakura, a figure skater with Tokyo.
Their coach Arakawa, recognizing a bit of himself in Takuya, combines the two as a competitive duo. As they train and approach, the emotions deepen and the lines between partnerships and something more begin to escape.
The film is the protagonist SOSUKE IKEMATTSU, Keitatsu KoshiyamaAND Kiara NakanishiAnd it is described as “a moving drama of maturity supported by its picturesque cinematography and beautiful soundtrack”.
The official synopsis reads: “A winter on the Hokkaido island, a boy named Takuya has resigned from the fact that it is the worst player of his hockey team. While he exercises, he is transfected by figure skaters who share the skating rink, in particular Sakura, a star in birth from Tokyo.
“His coach, Arakawa, is interested in Takuya, seeing himself in the boy. It combines the two and trains them as a competitive ice dance duo. The two children eventually approach and form a profound bond with their support manager.
“But while winter continues, the unreal feelings begin to emerge and the harmony between the trio begins to falter.”
The critics praised the film saying: “Guided by the beauty of the landscape and by the nostalgia of childhood, the Okuyama builds a quiet narrative supported by a discreet charm”.
My sun It opens in the US theaters selected on September 12, 2025.
