The Wilhelm Scream was a Hollywood joke for decades, but the animation has its own equally legendary version. It is the unmistakable “foolish Holler”, a sound linked to one of the most lasting characters in Disney.
The mixed signs of the channel focused by music and audio recently took a closer look from where this screaming bizarre comes from and because it has become such a firm point in pop culture.
As the video explains, Goofy was a milestone of Disney animation for almost a century.
“Pippo is one of the best known classic characters in Disney, having appeared for the first time almost a hundred years ago as a minor character in a short animation on Mickey Mouse, albeit with a different name. But the really iconic contribution of Goofy in the world was the shouting Wilhelm of the animation, The Goodfy Holler.”
The Holler himself dates back to the Alpine roots of Goofy, originally designed to adapt to his clumsy but adorable personality. Over time, however, it has interrupted from being only one character and evolved into something bigger.
