Tron: Ares reports an element of script of a decade that modeled the film

When Tron: Ares It is released will mark the end of a long and complicated journey started immediately after Tron: Legacy Hit Screens in 2010. For almost 15 years, Disney has cycle through writers, directors and ideas in his attempt to return to the grid.

What fans are getting now is not the sequel that was imagined for the first time then, but surprisingly, parts of that early vision remain at the center of the film.

One of the first writers hired to face Tron 3 era David Digiliowhich is now better known as the showrunner of The list of the terminal with Chris Pratt. In 2011, Digilio had the task of writing a follow-up focused on Sam Flynn and Quorra, played by Garrett Hedlund AND Olivia Wilde.

While those characters are no longer part of the new film, Digilio recently discovered that he has still earned a credit “for”. Why? Because a character who created over a decade ago survived through every draft and became the heart of the new story.

Digilio told The Hollywood Reporter:

“When the film was finally made, I heard that the title was Tron: Ares and Ares is a character that I had created in the process as a bad guy. And Jareding [Leto]I think, he was connected at that moment to play it.

“I don’t know the complete process, but it may also have been one of the champions who continued it. And over time, Ares has transformed from being the bad to being the character of the title.”

He continued to explain how in the end the Writers Guild of America assigned him credit for having modeled the foundations of history.

“Once it was made, Disney sent, through the WGA, the provisional writing credit warning. So I saw that I was sharing the story of” With Jesse [Wigutow] And that Jesse was getting “script from” and I was electrified.

“But, of course, you end up arbitration when you have 15 writers and the positive of that experience was to read the script and see that the foundation has remained. The fundamental structure remained, even if Sam and Quorra had gone on.

“We no longer had those actors under option, and now a new wonderful cast is there. But that general story has remained the same. So I was really happy to share that credit with Jesse and I was turned on to see the film.”

According to Digilio, the plot involving the societies that fought to bring digital life forms to the real world was part of its original screenplay. Then Ares was the villain, but in this new version he moved to the main role.

That transformation gained his merit more than a decade after and highlights the amount of films still in his first draft.

After years of development it stops and begin, Tron: Ares It is finally real, transporting the DNA of a script written in 2011 and remodeling it for a new cast and era. Fans will not have to wait much longer to see how that story takes place when the film will open on October 10th.
