Simon Pegg gave fans a peek in the Quentin Tarantino Star Trek Film that has never been made, and if his description is something to do, it would have been wild!
Speaking to Fan Expo Boston (through Collider), Pegg revealed it JJ Abrams and producer Lindsey Weber Once shared with him the breakdown of the tarantine tone, and the idea was pure Tarantino energy set in the Star Trek universe.
“This is what we call crazy in the business.
Pegg admitted that he would have liked to see the world of Star Trek through the pulp Fiction Director’s Lens, even if it may have divided the fan base.
“I think it would have been a kind of curiosity so incredible to see Star Trek through his goal. I don’t know how he would have gone further with fans, but surely it would have been an interesting thing.”
At the end of 2017, paramount e Star Trek The Abrams manufacturer accepted Tarantino’s tone, with Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) brought on board to write the script. But the project blocked.
In 2023, Smith revealed that the biggest obstacle was Tarantino himself, who was fighting with the idea that Star Trek It could be his latest film.
“Quentin and I went back and forth, he would have done things, and then he started worrying about the number, his type of unofficial number of movies.
“I remember we were talking, and he says:” If I can only wrap the head around the idea that Star Trek could be my latest film, the last thing I’ve ever done. Is this how I want to finish it? “And I think it was the Bernoccolo who could never have passed, so the script is still sitting there on his desk.”
The setting of the film would have been a world inspired by a retro gangster on a planet similar to the earth in the 1930s, attracting influence from Star Trek: the original series Episode “A piece of the action” in which the crew of companies meets a civilization imbued in the culture of the mafia of the 1920s.
Unfortunately, this crazy vision for Star Trek One of the Hollywood What-IFS will remain. But somewhere, in the office of Quentin Tarantino, he is found in the script that he could have been.
