Following some disturbing behaviors from a faction of Snyderverse supporters during the San Diego Comic-Con, James Gunn I decided to talk about the growing toxicity between some corners of the Fandom DC.
A fan, apparently angry for the direction of the new DC cinematic universe, said in a video that they planned to deal with Gunn during the Pacifier Panel of season 2. According to them, they were about to “run” on the dc studios blanket, painting it as a sort of conflicting protest.
Gunn initially swept away, underlining how absurd it would be to try to intimidate someone in a full H room full of 6500 people. But the moment clearly blocked himself with him, and later he turned to a more thoughtful response, paying attention to the broadest problem of online toxicity.
“If you see something toxic online, my advice would be, do not interact with it. Attention only the flames of online toxicity. It is one of the reasons why they are mainly on this platform.
“It is not because there are fewer toxic people here (although apparently there are), it is because it has started as an online culture more willing to let the toxic personality in the back of the room yells up and go away. When I scream, you are making that item relevant.”
He did not stop there and continued to say:
“You are giving him a healthy table. You are the midwife who helps to give birth to that toxic voice in the world. You are helping to make a few thousand angry voices seem.
“And, to be clear, when I speak of toxicity, I am mainly talking about anger or cruelty. I am not talking about not appreciating something or having reasonable topics on things we like and do not do.
Despite Gunn’s noise and rejection had had to face since he took the reins of DC Studios, he still seems to be focused on going forward and encouraging the healthiest interactions of fans. Do not agree with creative decisions is one thing, but running the fandom to spread hatred is something else and is stupid.
In the end, people just need to calm down. These stories and characters should be fun, non -fuel for conflict in real life. Some fans just need to return to enjoy the race.
