Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps He finally hit the theaters, kicking off to phase 6 of the MCU with a new interpretation of Marvel’s first family. While fans love the film and the dynamics of the characters, some are frustrated for what has not done the final cut.
Shortly after the release of the film, Marvel’s fans began to underline that several scenes shown in the first trailers were not found anywhere in the real film. A fan even shared the fixed images of three specific shots of the final version, noting that the Johnny Storm scene appears in the film but not in the same way.
“I think the first and third shot could have been shot only for the trailer or the scenes cut to cut the film,” a fan hypothesized. “The second blow is there, it has just been changed in the first trailer to not show Silver Surfer with him, but I think the complete shot in the second trailer.”
Others expressed their disappointment for the rhythm and runtime of the film, which reaches 1 hour and 55 minutes. “The film seemed chopped asf, it seemed that he had been forced to be less than 2 hours, he could easily have given him another half hour, he would have given more time to certain ideas and scenes to play correctly. Dacia than all external of this wonder,” said another fan.
While I liked that movie, it’s something I agree with about the movie. The story could have played much more fluid.
Some fans of the MCU are becoming frustrated by this trend. “This is my biggest complaint with this, and more recently, MCU film lately. They continue to cut and modify great scenes that would have been important or that would have improved the plot. It is not even to reduce a long period of execution, the film is 1h 55m FFS, the 10-15 extra minutes would not have hurt themselves”, shared a person.
Another fan added: “He was waiting for some of those shots of his, I would like them to keep him at 2:10 TBH, but I am more than satisfied with what we have achieved. Hoping only they release an extended cut on Disney/Blu-ray because I will be sick if not LMAO.”
So, will Marvel give fans the extensive cut they are asking? Probably not. However, the cutting of the film in post-production is a normal thing for Marvel. It is just how they work.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps It is in cinemas now, and despite the missing moments, it is already unleashing a ton of conversations on what is the next for the team and the rest of phase 6.
