Retro trailer for the 1980 Don Knotts Whounit Mystery-Commedia The Private Eyes

The retro trailer of this week is for the Mysterious Slapstick comedy of 1980 Private eyes With Don Knotts AND Tim Conway As Inspector Detective Bumbling Winship and Dr. Tart.

The duo is sent by Scotland Yard to investigate a murder in a temptular English residence, where they meet an eccentric cast of characters, a series of cryptic rhyme clues and a series of suspicious deaths.

While the investigations take place, the dark investigators make their way through red weapons, hidden passages and spectral dirojink, all while trying to capture a mysterious killer who seems to be always a step forward.

The film is a playful tribute to the mysteries of classic murder such as The Hound of Baskervilles AND TraceBut with the fun Goofball humor of Knotts and Conway.

The actors offer a perfect mix of comedies and slapstick absurdities. While the plot follows a traditional Whounit structure, the emphasis is firmly on the laughter, with exaggerated gags and horror camps.

This is a fun movie that is worth watching if you’ve never seen it!
