Tron: Ares’s director reveals new details of history while the bad AI of Jared Leto is compared to Pinocchio

The first trailer for Tron: Ares Leaving during the weekend and fans are quite enthusiastic about what he showed us. With fantastic images and a clear tonal change, director Joachim Rønning He is preparing the stage for a new bold chapter in the universe of Tron, and everything begins with Jared LetoTo the mysterious, evil, Ares.

In a recent interview with Empire online, Rønning revealed some new details on Ares, and that’s not what I expected from history, but I like it. He said:

“Not to be too cliché, but I always thought of him a bit like Pinocchio. Ares wants to be a real boy. We spoke a lot about the fact that he was almost a child, discovering the world for the first time and how we wanted the public to see the world through his eyes.”

It is not just a story of origin for a villain, it is a story of conscience for an AIs who struggles with identity and humanity. Rønning stressed that Ares’s perspective is the key to the emotional nucleus of the film.

“The little things we take for granted or that we no longer see. It was important,” he continued. “And then a bigger theme for the film is what you need – what it means – human being. Especially in this case, because it is a computer program.”

That mixture of innocence and existential crisis could make Ares one of the most interesting characters in the Tron saga, especially while venturing into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking the first direct contact of humanity with a digital being from the grid.

Visually, Ares also stands out. Fans who captured the trailer noticed something strange, his identity disc is not the classic round shape. It is triangular. And yes, that was a deliberate choice.

“It’s definitely a weapon. And it’s just a superior disc. When you are part of a franchise, you want to evolve the design, even if I am sure that people will go out of mind that is not round:” Oh no! “But we also have round records.

Tron: Ares It promises to be more than a simple visual update to the franchise. If Rønning’s comments are something to pass, we are getting a weighted exploration of what happens when artificial intelligence looks in the mirror and starts asking difficult questions.
