The second season of De Wenzen is officially working – Jenna Ortega returns to the role of a gloomy, mysterious and charismatic student of the Neveromor and Detective Academy.
Together with her, familiar faces from the first season and a whole galaxy of new heroes will appear on the screen, but the Academy of Neverormore lost a student. Percy Hinnes White, who was accused of sexual harassment in 2023, previously confirmed that he would not return to the role of Xavier Peat, and the project itself went calmly – without.
The character of White was a noticeable figure in the first season and could, based on the final, get a key line in continuation. Yet Xavier was one of the two potential romantic interests of Wenes-de Second was Tyler Galpin performed by Hunter Duen. Fans wondered how the show would explain the sudden disappearance of one of the main characters.
The answer was given by actress Emma Mayers: According to her, the second season went in a completely different direction and there will be no strange holes in the plot. In an interview with Variety, she said:
“It seems to me that the script is very clear, and this topic does not cause any concern at all. The second season is strongly tied to characters, there is so much that the appearance of new heroes is an absolute logical development of events. I think the audience will appreciate it.”
Details of the plot are still kept secret. The final of the first season hinted on a new secret, which apparently will be the most important intrigues of the continuation. According to Showransuers and executive producers, the continuation will be darker:
“This time the story of Wenzen will become darker and more complicated – she must understand relations with her family, friends, new riddles and old enemies. All this brings her into a new, even more dangerous academic year in NeverMore.”
White departure is not the only change in the composition. Several new stars at the same time with the actors of the show, including Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lamley, Tandy Newton, Francis O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment. The main event is the appearance of Lady Gaga in the second season of the second season. Whoever will play is not revealed, but Jenna Ortega already called her one of the most talented colleagues with whom she had the chance to work:
“She is the best. Absolutely one of the most talented I met. The atmosphere on the set was really special to be next to her and Tim Burton at the same time … This is powerful. And also discovers that she is incredibly friendly, calm and somewhat closed – in general unexpected. I know you never know what to expect from her.”
