Spider-Man: New Day earned more than $110 million at the worldwide box office on Monday, an absolute record for that day of the week, according to Чемпионат.com. In the United States, the film took in $47 million, beating Black Panther's previous Monday record of $40 million.
The film had already set a domestic opening weekend record of $360 million, surpassing Avengers: Endgame. Worldwide box office receipts topped $1 billion within the first six days of release, a pace reached faster only by Avengers: Endgame in 2019.
IMAX Expansion Ahead
Starting August 7, New Day will begin screening in IMAX format, which could further boost its total earnings. The film is being released during a competitive period, with Christopher Nolan's Odyssey also running in IMAX theaters until mid-September.
