"To Grandpa's Village 2" topped Russia's official weekend box office for the third consecutive week, according to data from Kinobusiness. The comedy earned 46.1 million rubles over the weekend.
"Michael" placed second with 39.6 million rubles. "Kholop 3" followed with weekend earnings of 26 million rubles, and "Evil Dead: Blaze" took fourth place with 25.1 million rubles.
CIS box office leader
Counting films released across CIS countries excluding Russia and Belarus, Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" led with 147.1 million rubles.
"To Grandpa's Village 2" follows 11-year-old Vladik, who returns to spend his holidays with his grandfather, Yuri. In this sequel, another grandfather, Viktor, a former diplomat, unexpectedly turns up in the village, sparking a rivalry between the two relatives for the boy's attention.
