Elijah Wood reveals which film he would have deleted from existence: “There is nothing pure”

Elia Wood (The Lord of the Rings, Sin City) recently calls a film that was made for having completely lost the mark and if he had the power to erase a film from existence it would be that of Tim Burton Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005).

Wood shared his opinion on this in 2017 during the film fights (via: Gamesradar+), a show of panels in the style of Screen Domer style, and did not hold back the sharing of his thoughts.

“The version of Willy Wonka in Tim Burton’s film is atrocious and terrifying,” he said. “There is nothing pure or beautiful about it.”

Wood was clearly not a fan of Burton’s socket and said that Burton’s version of the history of children “destroyed the book and destroyed the original film”.

While he recognized that Burton “took him a lot in his direction”, Wood felt that the result was not close to what made the original story so fun and magical.

Even though I wasn’t also a fan of the movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory It was not a failure. It still has a 83% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, but the audience score is with a much lower 51%.

A large part of the gap came to the representation of Johnny Depp’s Wonka, who exchanged Wilder’s fascinating and enigmatic presence for an embarrassing and disturbing imprisonment with a bizarre background on the hadiant father of the candies. It was a great contrast to hear the wild singing Pure imagination.

If you could delete a film from existence, what would you choose?
