Almost 20 years have passed since then Christopher Eccleston AND Billie Piper carried Doctor Who He returns to life in 2005, introducing a new generation to the doctor and his adventures that cross space and time.
Now, the ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler are gathering for a new series of new ones Doctor Who Audio Virvature, which will debut in August 2025 through large productions.
This collection of 12 episodes stories adapt to their time sequence on the original screen, expanding the relatively short but fantastic era of the ninth doctor. I loved Eccleston in the role of the doctor and it is a pity that he has no longer had time in the role.
Producer Matt Fitton Confirmed that the series will dive into the world established in 2005: “In 12 episodes, inserting that series of 2005 perfectly, we have more Jackie Tyler, plus Powell Summer, as well as old friends and enemies in time and space”. Their meeting
Eccleston, who previously returned to Ninth Doctor Adventures with Big Finish, is clearly enthusiastic about returning to Tardis with Piper.
He said: “I am so happy to return to recording more adventures for the ninth doctor with Billie. I don’t think my doctor exists without roses. It’s a type of” a man, a companion “.

Both actors have delighted Doctor Who Audio dramas before, Eccleston in his solo stories and together with River Song, while Piper led his Rose Tyler spin off. However, this marks their first big meeting since the last time they appeared together on TV.
During a recent Megacon panel in Orlando, Piper spoke about the experience, revealing that sliding in the character was easier than expected: “When you are in the room with everyone, it’s … it’s … it’s just a sort of strange muscle memory that returns”.
Big Finish shared the synopsis: “The doctor and roses want you to come with them! Back to Powell’s estate, where the doctor’s past returns to persecute him and outside the universe in which old and new enemies are waiting for …”
