Joe AND Anthony Russo They are not foreign to juggle among huge cast. Having directed Avengers: Infinity War AND EndgameThe duo successfully balanced an overwhelming number of superhero and bad in a way that actually seemed coherent.
Now, while preparing Avengers: Doomsday AND Secret warsTheir characters management skills are again testing. And how do they keep track of everything? A method so simple but so boring that it almost seems like an inventory system of the old school role -playing games … Baseball Cards.
The Russos are keeping an eye on Marvel’s wide range with the characters’ cards, a system that they used before. This time, however, they updated it with magnets:
Anthony shared: “Yes, we continue to use baseball cards”, with Joe added: “Now they have magnets about them so that they can put them on a table and watch them. It is the only way to keep track of the quantity of characters you are working with.”
As for the way they decide those who cut the movies, Anthony explains that it is a long and scrupulous creative process, saying:
“And as far as we can look at those who are in movies, it is only a long creative process of exploring where we want to take history. What is the most surprising and exciting area for us to push and what characters help us in that effort?”
Right now, Marvel Studios is not revealing much when it comes to Doomsday AND Secret wars. We know that Sam Wilson’s Captain America, The Fantastic Four, and a handful of other characters are blocked as Steve Rogers, Spider-Man and more.
But considering the size of the MCU and the fact that the multiverse is in full swing, there are many possibilities. Heroes of past franchises, Disney+ series and even animated projects could all be at stake.
A great confirmed player is Robert Downey Jr. ‘Sort Doctor Doomwhich is destined to be the great evil of this next phase. The Russos made fun of the fact that Downey is deeply involved in the formation of the character, who seemed to excite fans.
Given this Secret wars It is inspired by Jonathan Hickman’s Comics Run, one of the most ambitious Marvel plots of all time, makes sense that the Russos need a sort of system to keep their temptular cast under control in such great madness.
