This is our first glance at Lucasfilm’s animated series Star Wars: Visionon Season 3, and the anchor comes from the episode Blackdirected by the acclaimed animator Shinya Ohira. It makes fun of a visually explosive psychological battlefield within the mind of an imperial soldier.
The image was revealed to the Annecy Festival and the episode is described as “a psychedelic battle between past and present, light and dark, life and death”, with this war that “rages in the tormented psyche of an imperial soldier close to defeat”.
It is a hellish tone for a Star Wars history! I love how this Visions The series is able to experience the Star Wars universe and explore the abstract side of the animation.
The third season of the anime anthology is destined to preview in 2025 and this time the range of participating studies is stacked with artists of the caliber of David Production (Jojo’s bizarre adventure), Douga kamikaze + soul (Star Wars: Visionon Season 1 The duel), Kinema Citrus (Made in abyss), Polygon Pictures (Knights of Sidonia), IG production (Ghost in the Shell), Project Studio Q (Evangelion 3.0+1.0), Trigger (Delicious in dungeon) and Wit Studio (Attack in Titan).
Visions Season 3 is preparing to be another wild lap through the Star Wars The universe and this particular episode will explore the fractured mind of a Stormtrooper to the limit. Wait for something interesting, visceral and not filtered when it comes next year.

One of the shorts is entitled “Black” and will follow the anger in the tormented psyche of a Stormtrooper near the defeat.
The Japanese artist Sakura Fujiwara will contribute to short film music.
