The film is the protagonist Vincent Cassel, Diane Kruger, Guy PearceAND Sandrine HoltAnd the story focuses on a character named Karsh, “an important businessman. The synopsis recites: “In a disturbing, deceptively placid nearby, a techno-entrepreneur named Karsh (Cassel) has developed a new software that will allow mourning to testify the gradual decay of the dead and buried on earth.
“While Karsh is still recovering from the loss of his wife (Kruger) by cancer – and falling into a peculiar sexual relationship with his wife’s sister (also Kruger) – a wave of vandalized tombs using his” shroud “technology begins to put his business at risk, leading him to discover a potentially vast conspiracy.
“Written after the death of the director’s wife, David Cronenberg’s new film is both a deeply personal rendering of pain and a descent into the noir tint dystopia, set in a threatening world of autonomous driving cars, theft of data and personal assistants of AI. Cronenberg previously spoke of the film that explained: “Most of the burial rituals concern the reality of death and the reality of what happens to a body.
“I was writing this film while I lived the pain of my wife’s loss, who died seven years ago. It was an exploration for me because it was not just a technical exercise, it was an emotional exercise.
“In a sense, the protections that my main character invented are film devices … They are creating their cinema, a post-moor cinema, a decay cinema.
“Before writing the script, I was aware of the fact that there was a cinematographic aspect in the grooves, creating their strange cinema Tomba, Cinema of the Cemetery.”
