David Leitchthe director of John Wick, Bullet train, Deadpool 2AND The boy of autumnhe is in early negotiations to direct Ocean 14 for Warner Bros.
Steven Soderbergh he directed the first three films in the series and there’s no word on whether he’ll be involved in the next film, but I imagine he’ll get at least a producer credit.
I loved the first three Oceans movie and while I would have loved to see Soderbergh return to direct, it will be interesting to see what Leitch does with the franchise if he actually ends up coming on board.
Leitch worked with Oceans star Brad Pitt ON Bullet trainso I’m wondering if that’s where the conversations about this whole thing started.
According to Deadline, the intention is to bring back the original cast and tell an entirely new heist story. It will be fun to revisit these characters!
When previously we talked about the possibility of Ocean 14 Matt Damon he shared that he has been ready since he wrapped Ocean 13:
“This has been my position since we wrapped Ocean’s 13, from the day we wrapped, I’m ready to work on Ocean’s 14.
“It was always about what it would be like, you know, we lost two members of our gang, you know, Bernie [Mac] and Carlo [Reiner] and, uh, so what would that move be like that you would make?
“And so it would be up to a great screenwriter to figure that out and, and, you know, but the kids, we’re, we’re all still in touch with each other.
“We have great friendships that came out of that movie and, you know, we would definitely always be open to coming back, I think.”
What do you think about the possibility of Leitch coming on board to direct the film? Oceans 14.
