Yellowstone producers MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios have been negotiating with Reilly and Hauser for several months.

When previously teasing this project, Hauser said, “I’m so focused on finishing Yellowstone in the way it must have ended right now — well, just the show itself. We’ll see where this leads.

“But I know there’s something on the horizon as far as Taylor’s ideas for Kelly Reilly and for me and for some of the other cast.

“I’m excited to see where he goes creatively with this. But right now it’s just: Let’s finish strong; let’s do the best we can.”

Reilly also spoke about the series, saying, “There’s potentially another chapter. We’re talking about it now.”

He went on to explain this and how, if that happens, it will be a little different. He explained: “Nothing is set in stone. But if Taylor wanted to write it, I would too. That’s all. Because he’s the one who wrote every single line I said. It came from his imagination.

“But we both agree that change needs to happen. Because you can’t keep telling the same story. This story is ending. Yellowstone as we know it is ending, but if there’s more story to tell with some characters, it’ll be a little different.”
