Disney Studios is moving forward with its live-action adaptation Tangled and the director behind the wild-looking Robbie Williams biopic Better man, Michael Graceyis in talks to direct.
Tangled is being described as a revival of Disney’s 2010 animated film of the same name, and you can bet it will tell the exact same story.
The story centers on the beautiful Princess Rapunzel, who has been locked in a tower since she was captured as a child by an old witch.
Her magical long blonde hair has the power to give her eternal youth, and the evil Gothel uses this power to keep her young. At age 18, Rapunzel becomes curious about the outside world, and when a prince uses her tower as a refuge, she asks him to help her escape.
Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Take your revenge, Thor: Love and Thunder, I know what you did last summer) write the most recent draft of the film’s screenplay.
Gracey also directed the Hugh Jackman film The greatest showmanone of the highest-grossing live-action musicals of all time.
Disney will never remake the history of their animated films as live-action films. Once they’ve done them all, they’ll start doing them again. This is simply the cycle of life at Disney Studios.
