Stephen King’s AUTOPSY ROOM FOUR will be adapted into a feature film

Stephen Kingthat’s the short story Autopsy room four, is destined to get a film adaptation thanks to the director Ranjeet S. Marwa and veteran Hollywood executive Jon Levin.

This is an intense, chilling story centering on Howard Cottrell, a man who wakes up paralyzed and unable to communicate, only to find himself on an autopsy table.

He is mistaken for dead after a snake bite leaves him in a catatonic state, and Howard endures the horror of being fully conscious as the medical examiners prepare to begin their dissection. He struggles internally to find a way to signal that he is still alive.

The story was first published in King’s limited edition collection Six stories in 1997 and appeared in Robert Bloch’s anthology Psychological later that same year. In 2002 it was collected in King’s collection Everything’s Eventual.

This will make for a great movie, which is currently in development.
