Coldplay have released a charming new music video for the band’s song “All My Love,” which stars a comedy legend Dick Van Dyke. The music video was directed by Spike Jonze AND Mary Wigmore.
While on his Malibu patio, the actor shares his thoughts on his long life and mortality. Dick Van Dyke will turn 99 on December 13th.
Van Dyke says, “I’m acutely aware that, you know, I could go any day, but I don’t know why it doesn’t concern me. I’m not afraid of it. I have that feeling, totally contrary to anything intellectual, that I’ll be fine.
In addition to footage of Van Dyke talking to Coldplay singer Chris Martin, the video also includes short clips from throughout the comic’s career, with quick glimpses of his classic ’60s sitcom. The Dick Van Dyke Show, his Chitty Chitty Bang Bang movies AND Mary Poppins, and an appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show.
Van Dyke says, “I think I’m one of those lucky people who was able to do for a living what I would have done anyway. If you think about how lucky I am, I have to do what I do: play games and act stupid.
