STAR WARS: SKELETON CREW Creators Explain Why Jude Law Didn’t Show Up Until the End of Episode 2

The first two episodes of Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew it recently premiered on Disney+ and I thought it was a fun show! It’s definitely not for everyone, and for some Star Wars fans don’t seem to like it, but I liked it and it brought out the child in me.

Jude Law he was absent from most of the first two episodes and didn’t make his grand entrance as the mysterious Jod Na Nawood until the last ten seconds of episode 2.

Series creators Jon Watts AND Christopher Ford recently explained why Law’s character isn’t shown until the final moments of the episode.

At the end of episode 2, the crew finds themselves locked in the cell on the pirate-infested planet Borgo. Their situation seems dire, but, suddenly, Narwood steps out of the shadows and uses the Force to obtain a key to the prison.

Watts told GamesRadar+: “I was thinking about it [not introducing Jude Law’s Jod until the end of episode 2]. I mean, when we wrote it, we didn’t know it was going to be Jude Law.

“This character will appear, it will be amazing. And then later you say, “I wish I had more.” Why didn’t we put Jude Law in every scene?”

Watts explained, “We really wanted to root the show in the children’s perspective. We wanted to feel like you were already lost and on an adventure with them.” [by the time] meet Jude.”

Speaking about the appeal of Law’s character, Watts added: “Jude is so good in this show because it feels like he’s already existed in the Star Wars universe for years and years and brought that to our show. We wanted to create a really mysterious character.” and layered and I think he brings all these flavors with him in his interpretation.”

I can’t wait to learn more about Law’s character and see how his story arc develops in the end.
