Ahsoka Season 2 is currently in development with Dave Filoni leading the charge on the project. He recently offered an update on how the work is progressing and confirms that he is the only writer working on it.
Filoni told Extra TV: “I’m so comfortable with this too… I wrote it, and I’m still the only writer of it, and so I had fun doing it, but it’s a challenge, for sure, and working on some of these story arcs has been a challenge and making sure it all comes out in a way that I think is exciting for the fans.
“I know they’re interested in knowing where some of the things I developed in the first season. I’m quite happy with it… I love working with Rosario [Dawson]so I can’t wait to get back to it.”
It’s good to know that Filoni is having fun writing season 2, but I wish he had brought in some of his writers from The Clone Wars, RebelsAND The bad lot to help him.
The writing of the first season of Ahsoka it wasn’t quite up to par with what those animated shows offered, and I think Star Wars the series could be strengthened with the help of those writers instead of Filoni doing it alone.
Ahsoka is set after the fall of the Empire and “follows former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.” Season 2 will continue that journey and with Grand Admiral Thrawn, Baylan Skoll, and Shin Hati on the loose.
Ashoka The first season ended with Grand Admiral Thrawn’s escape from Peridea, although Ezra Bridger managed to hide on the Imperial’s ship.
Meanwhile, Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren both remained stranded on Peridea, but the appearance of Anakin Skywalker’s Force ghost suggested that they were where they were supposed to be.
The only preview we have about the plot of the second season comes from some concept art drawn by Filoni, which shows Ahsoka and Sabine on the same statue that Baylan Skoll discovered in the finale. This is a tease that World Between Worlds will play a big part in the story as it continues.
Ahosoka even stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead like Hera Syndulla, the deceased Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant like Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.
