Tom Cruise will reunite with Edge of tomorrow director Doug Liman for a new supernatural horror thriller film project titled Deeper.
This news comes from Showbiz 411. Liman himself confirmed the news, saying that he and Cruise “have a ‘scary’ movie planned.” He added, “I’ve never done one,” Liman said, and neither has Tom Cruise.
I must point out that Cruise acted The Mummy AND Interview with a vampireboth could be considered horror films.
The film is said to be about an astronaut who is exploring a deep-sea trench that contains a sinister, seemingly supernatural threat. My first thought about it is that maybe it could be some kind of HP Lovecraft-inspired film.
It will be interesting to see what the next project will be. Cruise and Liman are also developing a sequel Edge of tomorrow and then there’s the movie they plan to shoot in space.
Not much else is known about it Deeper project, but it has been in development for about a decade and is based on a screenplay by Max Landis.
Over the years several actors have been involved in the project, including Idris Elba, Bradley Cooper AND Gal Gadot. In the meantime, Kornel Mundruczo AND Baltasar Kormakur they were once assigned to management Deeper in 2016 and 2019 respectively.
