STAR WARS: SKELETON CREW Early reactions say it’s ‘a love letter to ’80s adventure films’

The first initial reactions were striking for the imminent Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew sci-fi/fantasy adventure series, critics and fans seem to love them!

Skeleton crew it’s a The Goonies-Amblin inspired style Star Wars series that follows the journey of four boys “who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with the likes of Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Law.

“Finding their way home and encountering unlikely allies and enemies will be an adventure greater than they ever imagined.”

The series is said to capture “the spirit of The Goonie to deliver a fun, kid-focused Star Wars adventure.” The show is also described as a “love letter to ’80s children’s adventure films”.

Another description says it has “adventurous ’80s Amblin vibes with a hint of Mando.” The praise continues, but it actually looks like this show could be a really cool Star Wars show to watch and enjoy!

The show’s co-creator Chris Ford had previously explained that Skeleton crew children think of Jedi as fairytale characters: “We wanted to include the idea that these kids had heard of Jedi and stories of good versus evil in the same way that on our planet we have fairy tales or stories of King Arthur of the Knights of the Round Table”.

The series was created by Jon Watts (Spider-Man) and is also the protagonist Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana KratterAND Robert Timothy Smith.

The episodes of the show will be directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, The Daniels, David Lowery, Jake SchreierAND Lee Isaac Chung. The Mandalorian’S Jon Favreau AND Dave Filoni will be the executive producer.

The series debuts today, Monday December 2nd!
