DC Studios has released the first clip of James Gunnthe next animated series by Commando of creatures and previews the fun dynamic of Task Force M.

In this scene, Rick Flag Sr. is taking the members of Task Force M on their first mission and the whole dysfunctional aspect of the team members is on full display.

GI Robot is just excited to kill some Nazis, but no one else really wants to be there. As for Weasel, he isn’t enjoying the helicopter ride, and this leads Flag to reference the events of The suicide squad.

Commando of creatures showrunner Dean Lorey he recently talked about how this series is different from his previous DC projects, saying:

“Harley Quinn and Kite Man are both pure comedies. We always like to break those stories into dramas because we want to invest in the characters and everything. But at the end of the day, they’re comedies, and Creature Commandos is closer to something like The Suicide Squad or Guardians of the Galaxy.”

“There’s some comedy, but it’s probably more of an action movie than a pure comedy. ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ is very ingrained in the series.

“We learn a lot about characters we’ve already seen, like Weasel. He has a major story arc this season, and it’s all about “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” That’s really true for all the characters.”

“There’s Frankenstein, who’s a bit of an intellectual. He’s also a stalker. I think the characters are probably different from what you would expect them to be and we learn a lot of new things about them.”

The series “tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails… they are your last, worst option.”

Gunn, who wrote the series, previously said: “The new series picks up directly after the season one finale of Peacemaker, which leaves Waller with her hands tied operationally, meaning she’s no longer able to get away with anything.” putting human lives in danger. carry out his morally questionable clandestine missions. Instead, he recruits a ragtag band of misfits, not unlike the Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.

The team in the series consists of a human, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster and a gorgon. The voice cast includes Davide Porto as Eric Frankenstein, Sean Gunn as Weasel and GI Robot, Franco Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Maria Bakalova in the role of Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma in the role of the Bride, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, with Steve Agee reprising his role as John Economos from Peacemaker.

Commando of creatures will premiere on Max on December 5, 2024. Enjoy the clip!
