Roman Kostomarov said about life after amputation: “Prosthetic arms are like a suit for going out”

Russian figure skater and Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov is an example of self-control and hard work for many. In a new interview with Gazeta.ru, the athlete told how he actually lives and works with prosthetic limbs.

The skater noted that in most cases she only wears lower limb prostheses: “If we talk about prosthetic legs, of course I use them all the time. This is truly a salvation for a person who wants to move and walk. As for the hands, they are more like a suit for going out: I only wear them to events and shoots, never at home.”

Roman admitted that he only seeks medical help in rare cases: “I don’t go to doctors at all. And I take good care of myself, I train three to four times a week, I try to lead a fairly active lifestyle. And I don’t go to doctors without any signs and symptoms – there is no reason for this. Peh-peh.”
