Roman Kostomarov Details Living With Prosthetic Limbs

Russian Olympic figure skater Roman Kostomarov shared details in an interview with Gazeta.ru about using prosthetic limbs following his amputation.

Russian figure skater and Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov has spoken about living with prosthetic limbs following his amputation in a new interview with Gazeta.ru. The athlete explained how he actually lives and works with his prostheses.

Kostomarov noted that he wears lower limb prostheses constantly. "If we talk about prosthetic legs, of course I use them all the time. This is truly a salvation for a person who wants to move and walk," he said. "As for the hands, they are more like a suit for going out: I only wear them to events and shoots, never at home."

Fitness routine and medical care

Kostomarov admitted that he only seeks medical help in rare cases. "I don’t go to doctors at all. And I take good care of myself, I train three to four times a week, I try to lead a fairly active lifestyle," he said. "And I don’t go to doctors without any signs and symptoms, there is no reason for this. Peh-peh."
