It seems Daniel Craig will collaborate again with the director Luca Guadagnino for the DC Studios film Sergeant Rock. The two recently worked together on the upcoming film Queer.
Sergeant Rock was conceived as Guadagnino’s next film project with the film’s screenplay written by Challengers AND Queer scribe Justin Kuritzkes.
Craig will take on the film’s lead role, Sgt. Franklin “Frank” Rock, created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert and is best known for his role as the leader in the WWII-themed comic book series Our army at warwhich was later renamed Sergeant Rock.
The character first appeared in 1959 and is a tough, no-nonsense infantry soldier who leads Easy Company, a group of battle-hardened soldiers in the European theater of World War II.
Rock is characterized by his unwavering sense of duty, badass fighting skills, and strong loyalty to his men, often acting as both a father figure and protector.
His stories are gritty and down-to-earth, focusing on the brutal realities of war, the camaraderie between soldiers, and the personal cost of battle, making him one of DC’s iconic military heroes.
As a fan of the character, I would love for this movie to turn out great, and I think Craig could be great in the role.
What do you think about Craig playing the role of Sergeant? Rock?
