Noah Hawleythe creator of Fargo, Legionand the imminent Alien: Earth series, is a writer and director that many fans would have liked to see go into a major comic book movie project. Well, apparently he talked to Marvel Studios.
According to inside scooper Daniel Richtman, Hawley has met with the studio to potentially discuss writing and directing “several projects,” and one of those includes Young Avengers movie.
Richtman also believes that Hawley was one of the directors considered to direct Avengers: Judgment Day AND Secret Wars before the Russo Brothers signed.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Marvel wanted Hawley to help them develop one of their big movie projects. It would simply have to be a fit project for Hawley.
A Young Avengers the film has yet to be officially announced, but we know it’s something Marvel is developing. It’s a project they are actively working on.
Feige has teased this in the past, saying Marvel planted the seeds for this. The biggest seed came at the end of The Marvels, when Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) goes to recruit Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). He also mentions Cassie Lang in the scene. So the fact that Marvel is developing a Young Avengers movie shouldn’t be surprising.
Vellani has previously spoken about the group’s future and possibilities, and how he believes the Young Avengers will distinguish themselves from the originals:
“They have perspectives that the older Avengers don’t have, especially because they’ve had to deal with the repercussions, but they’re also fans of the older Avengers.
“So I think they can really make this team something new. I think it’s going to be a lot more functional than the Avengers were. I think Kamala being in charge could also set the tone in a really beautiful way. I think she’s a born leader.
“She’s not only the glue of Marvel, but she could be the glue of the younger Avengers team because she’s mature and intelligent, and she also has all this knowledge about being superheroes and teamwork and how to do it in a certain way. . It’s ideal and works for everyone.
“And he probably learned so much from working in the Marvels, so he can bring it to the Young Avengers. But yeah, I think they’re definitely going to be a group that younger audiences can connect with and relate to a lot more.
“I think their views on social justice issues, I think their views just on the world in general and what is needed is much more important.
They feel like the group that’s going to understand humanity and the value of human life much more than I think the older group does because they’re part of it, right? They have relationships there.
“They go to school, they have their friends, they have their idols and their mentors. And I think all of these relationships will anchor this group much more than we have mentors who are billionaires, and you have a guy frozen from the 1940s. So they are definitely much more aware of reality.
“People really love these Young Avengers, but I don’t even know if they really read those comics, not that they’re bad. The chemistry between Kamala, Miles [Morales]and Sam [Alexander]it’s too beautiful.
“I would love to see that trio in the MCU. None of these characters exist in live action yet, but I pray for that. Yes. I love Sam Alexander. One of their first interactions they had. Even when Sam tried to reveal his identity and Kamala said, “Stay away from me.” I love it.”
What do you think about Hawley possibly directing a Young Avengers movie?
