We’ve got a first look at some of the art below to share with you, and they feature Boris Karloff as the Monster, but it’s a completely new original design for the character, which is pretty awesome!
It offers us a fresh but faithful interpretation of Shelley’s timeless story. The graphic novel brings together the award-winning creative team of Kerry Gammill AND El Garingknown for winning the RONDO award Bram Stoker’s Dracula with Bela Lugosibringing their celebrated artistic and storytelling skills to one of horror’s most enduring characters.
“Decades before the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Jules Verne, and H. G. Wells, eighteen-year-old Mary Shelley wrote what many consider the first work of science fiction when she wrote FRANKENSTEIN: or, the MODERN PROMETHEUS, which was published in 1818.
“More than a hundred years later, in 1931, a hard-working but relatively unknown actor named Boris Karloff was cast as Frankenstein’s monster in James Whale’s now-classic film adaptation. The film made Karloff a star and cemented Frankenstein’s monster as a screen icon.”
