ARCANE is the most expensive animated series ever made

AS League of Legends producer Riot Games and French animation studio Fortiche are about to premiere Arcane Season 2 on Netflix, some new information about the series has been shared which is very interesting.

It turns out that Arcane it’s the most expensive animated show ever made! Producing 18 episodes cost $250 million, a lot of money!

The thing is, you can see all that money on the screen. You can see it in the top-notch gripping storytelling, you can see it in the mind-blowingly great visuals. However, spending that much money on a series like this is a problem.

According to a report from Variety, Riot Games is struggling to find its way in the entertainment industry because it has spent so much money to get it. Arcane out the door. They just have a lack of experience in the industry.

Because of this, the company reportedly spent $60 million on marketing Arcaneof the first season, which is a price that far exceeds the norm for a show not distributed by its studio.

The report also reveals this Arcane a five-season show was initially planned, but the series will end after just two. So, even though they said two seasons was all they needed to tell the complete story they wanted to tell, now we know the real reason the series was cut short!

A source close to the show’s production revealed that the estimated costs for ArcaneThe first nine episodes are worth more than $80 million. They even say it ArcaneThe similarly sized second season cost around $100 million.

On top of that, Riot paid for Arcane’s marketing out of pocket and spent more than Netflix to promote the show.

Regardless, Riot co-founder and chief product officer Marc Merrill said Riot is committed to producing high-quality movies and TV shows, but acknowledged a learning curve.

“Our ambitions in entertainment have not changed. We never intended to operate as a traditional studio with traditional timelines.

“What changed as we learned more were our expectations of ourselves: We realized that doing things right takes a lot longer than we initially expected, and so we recalibrated our development, outcome goals and teams with this in mind.”

As for the $250 million price tag, Merrill said, “We are more than comfortable with the expense necessary to put on a spectacle worthy of our players’ time.”

Riot Games still has projects in development such as a live-action limited series and an animation project, and they are developing several ideas for Arcane spinoff shows. But the company hasn’t put any into production yet.

Ultimately, Riot Games has proven that they can create amazing content, and as they continue to learn and grow, I can’t wait to see the other projects they create.
