Lily James (Child driver, The Iron Claw) AND Pierce Brosnan (Mrs. Doubtfire, Tomorrow never dies) will be the protagonists of a new retelling of the classic action film Cliffhanger with Jaume Collet-Serra direct. The film will reunite the couple after they worked together on the film Oh mama! Here we go again in 2018.
The new screenplay is based on a story by Ana Lily Amirpourin which “Brosnan will play expert mountaineer Ray Cooper, who runs a luxury chalet in the Dolomites with his daughter Sydney.
“On a weekend trip with a billionaire’s son, they are targeted by a gang of kidnappers. Ray’s daughter Naomi (James), still haunted by a past climbing accident, witnesses the attack and runs away. To save his family, he will have to face his fears and fight for survival.”
Nell Tiger free, Franz Rogowski, Shubham Saraf, Assaad Bouab, Suzy Bemba AND Bruno Gouery will also appear in the film.
The film is targeting a theatrical release with Rocket Science handling international sales and CAA Media Finance representing the North American and China territories.
Rocket Science has a partnership deal with Studiocanal for the film rights.
