Netflix has released the first trailer for By Ted Danson new comedy series, A man insideand in it Danson plays a retired professor named Charles who feels that life has nothing new in store for him. It looks like it will tell a sweet and delightful story.
In the series, “a year after his wife died, he got stuck in his rut and became estranged from his daughter.
“But when he sees an ad for a private investigator, he is inspired to roll the dice on a new adventure, going undercover to solve the mystery of a stolen family heirloom.”
Charles’ mission is to “go undercover at the Pacific View retirement home in San Francisco and solve the mystery of a stolen family heirloom.
“Everyone, residents and staff, are potential suspects, and it’s up to Charles to solve the case without ending up on Didi’s radar (Stefania Beatrice), the all-seeing, all-knowing director of Pacific View.
“But keeping a low profile proves difficult as the affable Charles quickly endears himself to his fellow citizens. Being an ‘inner man’ pushes Charles on an emotional journey that makes him realize there’s so much more life to live – and allows him to reconnect with Emily in the process.”
The series is said to address the themes of “age, loneliness and Alzheimer’s dementia”, and was created by The good place AND Hack executive producer Morgan Sackett . It is inspired by The mole agent documentary, set in Chile.
The eight-part series also stars Stephen McKinley Henderson, Sally Struthers, Eugenio Cordero, Margaret Avery, John Getz, Susan Ruttan, Lori Tan Chinn, Clyde Kusatsu, Marc Evan Jackson, Jama Williamson, Wyatt Yang, Deuce Basque, Lincoln Lambert AND Kerry O’Malley.
A man inside, debuts on Netflix on November 21st.
