Prime Video has released the first trailer for the upcoming dark comedy series The Sticky, which centers on an epic maple syrup heist.
The series stars Margo Martindale as Ruth Landry, a tough, middle-aged maple syrup farmer who turns to crime when bureaucratic authorities threaten to take away everything she loves.
In the story, “She teams up with the irascible Boston mobster (Chris Diamantopoulos), and a mild-mannered French-Canadian security guard (Guillaume Cyr) to carry out a multimillion-dollar heist on Quebec’s maple syrup surplus.
The show is based on the real Canadian Maple Syrup Heist, but it’s made clear in the trailer that “this is absolutely not the true story.”
Sounds like a fun show! The series hails from Brian Donovan and Ed Herro, who serve as executive producers and showrunners.
Other cast members include Gita Millier, Guy Nadon, Mickaël Gouin, Susanne Clemente, Mark O’Brien, Meegwun FairbrotherAND Vickie Papavswith Jamie Lee Curtis appearing in the guest role.
The series will consist of six episodes of half an hour each and will debut on December 6th.
