First look at Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen in DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE

20th Century Studios recently shared a first photo from the biopic Free me from nothingand presents Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen.

The film will follow the musician who, after grappling with personal demons and trying to become a global superstar, wrote and recorded the 1982 album Nebraskawhich is one of the most emotionally raw, dark and honest albums in recent music history.

Scott Cooper he is directing the film and also stars in it Harrison Sloan Gilbertson, Odessa youngAND Paolo Walter Hauser as Springsteen’s longtime guitar tech, Mike Batlan.

Cooper said in a statement: “Beginning production on this film is an incredibly humbling and emotional journey. Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska it profoundly shaped my artistic vision.

“The album’s raw, raw depiction of life’s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me. Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zanes’s gripping account of Bruce’s life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honoring Bruce’s legacy in a transformative film experience.

“It was a great pleasure collaborating with Bruce and Jon [Landau] as I tell their story and their creative energy fuels every part of this journey. Also, I’m excited to reunite with my friend David Greenbaum [president, Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios]as he embarks on his new role at Disney, adding another layer of inspiration to this project.

The development of Nebraskawhich followed Springsteen’s 1981 The tour of the riverit marked a pivotal moment in his life, one that he would only speak about openly decades after its release.

It is considered a point of reference in his musical odyssey and a source of inspiration for a generation of artists and musicians. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s bedroom in New Jersey and without the E Street Band, Nebraska is considered one of Springsteen’s most enduring works: a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.
