Nickelodeon has announced the renewal Patrick’s Star Show for a fourth and fifth season, each consisting of 13 episodes.
The news may come as a surprise to some who don’t remember the SpongeBob SquarePants spin-off renewed for a third season.
That’s because the show was originally picked up to series with a 26-episode orderPatrick’s Star Show was renewed for a 26-episode second season in March 2022, midway through its freshman run. Subsequently, the decision was made to divide the second episode into two seasons (2 and 3) to keep its dimensions more consistent with the duration of the seasons currently consumed in streaming, where all shows ultimately end.
The 12-episode second season wrapped in August, with season 3, plus a big-ticket holiday special, launching early this week. Patrick’s Star Showthe second SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff, starring Patrick (Bill Fagerbache) and the rest of his family, constantly shocked by his unbridled tantrums and surreal imagination.
During the New York Comic-Con panel, where the series made its announcement, Patrick’s Star Show revealed a clip from the upcoming episode “Thanks But No Thanksgiving,” in which the stars celebrate Thanksgiving with Bunny’s side of the family in Klopnod, and preview images from the half-hour Christmas special “Squidina’s Holidaze Special,” in which Squidina is set to direct the school holiday play, but his script has been ruined by Patrick.
