A new poster has been released for Michelle Yeoh’S Star Trek: Section 31 film, and was announced to release on Paramount+ on January 24, 2025.
The film focuses on the Mirror Universe’s version Michelle YeohThe character of Emperor Philippa Georgiou who joins a secret division of Starfleet. Charged with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she must also confront the sins of her past.
In the film, “Emperor Philippa Georgiou, joins a secret Starfleet division tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets and faces the sins of her past.”
THE Star Trek the film is also the protagonist Omari Hardwick (Energy), Kacey Rahl (Hannibal), Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso), Sven Ruygrok (One piece), Roberto Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny and Georgia) AND James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry).
Yeoh previously said of the film: “I’m more than excited to get back to mine Star Trek family and the role I have loved for so long. Section 31 has been near and dear to my heart since I began the journey of playing Philippa since this new golden age Star Trek launched.
“Seeing her finally reach her moment is a dream come true in a year that has shown me the incredible power of never giving up on your dreams. We look forward to sharing with you what’s in store for you, and until then: live long and prosper (unless Emperor Georgiou decrees otherwise)!”
Producer Alex Kurtzmann added, “Back in 2017, before the first season of Star Trek: The Discovery had even aired, Michelle had the idea of making a spin-off for her character, Philippa Georgiou.
“She broke new ground as one of the first two women on screen in the pilot to usher in a new era of Trek, and now, six years later, Star Trek: Section 31 finally arrives on the heels of his latest revolutionary victory.
“Everyone on Team Trek couldn’t be more excited to see our legendary friend come home to us as we expand our storytelling into new and unexplored corners of the Trekverse. Long live Emperor Georgiou; long live Michelle Yeoh!”
Craig Sweeny wrote the screenplay for Star Trek: Section 31 AND Olatunde Osunsanmi he is directing the film.
