Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Foreigners: chapter 2 and gives us a look at the direction the story is taking in the horror trilogy.
Madelaine Petsch returns as Maya, survivor of terrifying attacks by three masked killers. As you’ll see, the terror doesn’t stop as her poor decisions land her back into the horrific arms of sinister killers.
The first film in the trilogy wasn’t all that special as it was just a remake of the original 2008 film. Foreigners: chapter 1“After their car breaks down in a creepy town, a young couple is forced to spend the night in a remote cabin.
“Panic ensues when they are terrorized by three masked strangers who strike mercilessly and for seemingly no reason.”
Now, Maya has once again put herself in a situation where she will be fighting for her life. But it looks like the next film will take things in a different direction and will be different from the first.
All films are directed by Renny Harlin (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, Deep Blue Sea). He had earlier said that the entire project was considered an epic journey of terror.
He explained: “We, of course, shot them on top of each other and mixed them, as is always done in films. But we had to keep in mind that this is a story arc.
“It’s a 4.5 hour film and the first film is the first act. It introduces the characters, the terror, the killers, and our main character, who survives the first film, but then goes on a journey in the next two.
Lionsgate’s plan is to release Foreigners: chapter 2 by the end of the year e Foreigners: chapter 3 probably early next year.
