Sony Pictures has released a Japanese trailer for its upcoming Marvel film Kraven the Hunter. It was also reported that a new 90-second preview of the film will be shown at screenings of Venom: The Last Dance.
I hope this movie is good, but since it’s from Sony, I’m expecting a somewhat mediocre and messy movie. The studio simply doesn’t have a good track record with its live-action Marvel films other than Spider-Man.
Kraven the Hunter is the visceral story of how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. Set before his infamous revenge with Spider-Man, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Kraven.
In Kraven the Hunter, Russian immigrant Sergei Kravinoff is on a mission to prove himself as the world’s greatest hunter. Taylor-Johnson called the project “a Marvel film strongly anchored in the real world. We know he is a ferocious hunter, a highly trained killer.” He enthusiastically proclaimed, “Fuck yes, it will be rated R!”
JC Chandor he is directing the film from a screenplay by Art Marco AND Matt Holloway (Iron Man), and is also the protagonist Ariana De Bose like Calypso, Russell Crowe as Nikolai Kravinoff, Fred Hechinger like a chameleon, Alessandro Nivola like a bad stranger, Levi Miller, AND Capture-22 star Christopher Abbott as the main villain, The Foreigner.
Kraven the Hunter film in theaters nationwide on December 13, 2024.
