BARBARIAN director Zach Cregger reportedly in talks to direct a new RESIDENT EVIL film

Barbarian Director Zach Cregger He is said to be in talks to lead a new Resident Evil film. It was recently reported that he has been offered to direct a new Trace film, but apparently, he refused and is now thinking of acting in the Resident Evil sandbox.

This report comes from The InSneider, and if this is true, and Cregger ends up taking the directing job, he would be a great fit for Resident Evil! His film, Barbarianseemed to hit many of the key points of the Resident Evil franchise with its wild and dark twists, its sinister mystery and its grotesque creature.

The last attempt at a live-action Resident Evil The main project was the Netflix series, which was canceled after only one season because it wasn’t good.

Over the years there have been seven Resident Evil films made. The most recent film was the 2021 one Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon Citywhich was a reboot directed by John RobertsThat film stuck more closely to the source material than Milla Jovovich’s films, and the reception was somewhat mixed.

I’d be curious to see Cregger direct a Resident Evil film and see what kind of story it would tell.

What do you think about the possibility of Cregger directing a new film? Resident Evil movie?
