Donald Glover Talks About His Film LANDO: “I Just Want It to Be Fun”

Donald’s Glover he recently spoke about his Star Wars: Lando move and explains what he hopes to convey to them. The most important thing for him is that he wants the film to be entertaining.

Glover told the Wall Street Journal: “I just want it to be fun, like, like a Star Wars fans, I think it’s important that there’s just a need to have more fun. It’s very difficult to have fun right now.

“It’s hard because there are some very serious things going on, and they’re the only things that connect us, weirdly, so I understand why things are serious, but, I think part of the human experience is that we have a responsibility to have fun. And I feel like we’re lacking in that department.”

Glover has been involved in this project for a long time and with Lucasfilm’s track record with Star Wars movie, there’s no guarantee that this will actually happen. If it does, though, I’m sure Glover will give us a fun movie!

Speaking previously about why he signed on to the project, Glover said: “I said yes because I like the characters and my kids love Star Wars. And at this point, I just know when something is going to be good, because you’re really fighting the industry when [put your imprint on a franchise of that magnitude]. And it’s not that… I was going to say, and it’s not that I hate the industry, but now I’m like, ‘I hate the industry?'”

The actor has previously stated that he wants to tell a story that would make him happy and doesn’t want to waste time on a project he’s not fully invested in, but he said that Lando is definitely a character he’d love to play again.

He said, “People realized that their time was precious. You only get a certain amount. So I’m not interested in doing anything that’s just a waste of time or just a paycheck.

“I’d much rather spend time with people I like. So it has to be the right thing, and I think it could be. Lando is definitely someone I’d like to hang out with.”

Glover has previously shared his vision for a Lando project, describing it as Phrasebook in space: “It would be cool to see, like, Frasier in space. Like, a high-level guy in space.

“All of these characters are very specific and have very specific points of view, so it’s always going to be fun to see them travel to a planet that’s the opposite of what they’re used to… And that all sounds like it would be fun to write, for sure.”

Glover made his debut as Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Storyand that’s set the stage for a lot more stories to be told with this character and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of story Glover ends up telling if he gets the chance.
