A new trailer has been released for the wild and edgy romantic drama StillThe film centers on a young Brooklyn prostitute who gets the chance to live out a Cinderella fairy tale when she impulsively meets and marries the son of an oligarch.
The synopsis reads: “Ani (Mikey Madison) is a young Uzbek-American stripper from Brighton Beach, a Russian-speaking enclave in New York City. Because she is proficient in Russian, her boss at the strip club arranges for her to meet a Russian-speaking customer.
“After meeting Vanya, the son of a Russian oligarch, they begin a romance that leads them to elope on a trip to Las Vegas. Their fairytale marriage is threatened when his parents travel to New York to force an annulment.”
The film is the winner of the Palme d’Or at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and comes from the director Sean Baker (mandarin, The Florida Project, Red rocket), who wrote and directed the film.
The film also stars Mark Eydelshteyn, Yura Borisov, Karren KaragulianAND Tovmasyan cow.
