I was curious about Jon BernthalFrank Castle/Punisher’s Story Arc in the Marvel Series Daredevil: Reborn series and how it will develop.
We know that Punisher will appear in season one, but according to a new report, we’ve learned that his role in the story will be much more important in season two.
During a Q&A with members of The Cosmic Circus Discord, industry expert Alex Perez revealed that the Punisher will have a bigger role in the second season of the Marvel series.
It has been explained that the Punisher and villain Bullseye “will appear in the second season of Daredevil: Reborn.” He then elaborated, “But from what I understand, the Punisher role will be explored more in season two than in season one because the series feels more like a setup for his story that will continue into season two from what I’ve been told.”
I hope this all leads to a continuation of the Punisher solo series, because I would love to see his story in the MCU continue beyond Daredevil.
Bernthal has previously spoken about the series, saying, “I think if you’re a fan of the show that you’ve seen before, you’ll be a fan of this. I think we’re just taking it a step further.
“We are all here, we are all enormously happy to be together, we are proud of what we have done. If you are a fan of [Marvel’s Daredevil]you will be enormously happy.”
Head of Marvel’s Television, Streaming and Animated Division Brad Winderbaumhad already spoken about the series saying that it would give a completely new “political” slant to the bitter rivalry between Daredevil and Kingpin.
Winderbaum compared the show to X-Men ’97: “Daredevil is amazing. It’s similar in some ways to X-Men ’97 because it’s reviving something that fans love. But it’s taking it in a new direction.”
He went on to tease how things have changed, saying, “These characters have matured, the universe is different than it was. Things have changed, society has changed. Matt and Wilson have changed.
“And their characters are going to collide in ways they’ve never seen before. It’s not enough to just try to kill each other anymore. There’s a whole game of politics at play.”
The new series is said to be inspired by Kingdom of the devil plot, which explores the power dynamics between the Kingpin and the vigilantes who oppose him. The story revolves around the power struggle between Daredevil and Wilson Fisk, who becomes mayor of New York City.
Daredevil: Reborn It is developed by the directors Justin Benson AND Aronne Moorhead, our mentorwho worked on both Knight of the Moon AND Loki.
