Mondo has a fun print available for Sam Raimi1992 classic adventure fantasy horror comedy The Army of DarknessI love this movie and I still remember the experience of seeing it for the first time on the big screen!
This limited edition art poster was created by the artist Matt Sticker and is currently available for purchase on Mondo for $80 if you want one!
Stikker said of the poster: “What a blast trying to capture the utter chaos and frenetic energy of ARMY OF DARKNESS! I was fascinated by the original poster in the video store as a kid, and for my interpretation of the movie poster, I was immediately drawn to the classic, creepy imagery of Evil Ash, the Deadites, and the evils of the Necronomicon.
“I had to dig deep to try to do justice to the inventiveness and creative spirit of the character designs and on-screen effects!”
Artistic Director Josh Mandervilleadded: “What set ARMY OF DARKNESS apart from the EVIL DEAD films was that Sam Raimi brought the jokes, the frenetic camerawork and the practical effects gags to cartoon absurdity.
“The film has also become a cult fantasy epic with rather modest indie horror roots. Matt Stikker’s art gives us a larger-than-life Evil Ash with his entire Deadite army marching into battle while Good Ash speaks the magic words (basically) to undo the evil unleashed. It’s truly a bone-aching sight!”
