The fourth season of True Detective, True Detective: The Land of the Nightwas a huge success for HBO and was the most-watched season of the series. So, it was no surprise when the show was quickly renewed for a fifth season.
True Detective: The Land of the Night artistic director Issa Lopez will be returning for the new season and recently teased what we can expect.
Speaking to THR, the showrunner explained that the new season will be very different and darker than previous ones.
López said: “I can’t wait for everyone to know about it because it’s very different and very emotional. It’s even darker and even more twisted. I can’t wait to put it out.”
It will be interesting to see what kind of story is developed for the new season, but previously speaking about the new season López had said:
“In the writing, and it’s the bomb. It’s completely different. There’s different characters, different setting, different story, and I’m having a blast.” He added: A completely different adventure. Let’s put it that way.”
In True Detective: The Land of the Night“As the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who run the Tsalal Arctic research station disappear without a trace.
“To solve the case, detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) must confront the darkness within them and dig into the haunting truths that lie buried beneath the eternal ice.”
