Katey Sagal Comments on Playing Doctor Kureha in ONE PIECE Live-Action Series

It was recently announced that actress (Married with Children, Sons of Anarchy) has been cast as Dr. Kureha in Netflix’s live-action series One Piece.

My Friend Jamie Lee Curtis she wanted to play this character and the producers of the series tried to do so, but the actress’s commitments did not allow her to join the production of the second season.

Regardless, I think Sagal is a fantastic choice for the role! I think she’s an even better choice than Curtis and I can’t wait to see how she brings this character to life.

Sagal recently commented on his casting A piecesaying, “I’m thrilled to be a part of this show! And to finally be able to talk about it. I’ve been thinking about it for months, because it was a secret.

“Thank you to all the One Piece fans, your enthusiasm and support has been overwhelming. Off to Cape Town! I won’t let you down!”

Kureha is an ally of the Straw Hat Pirates and is a doctor on Drum Island, where she is the leader of the Isshi-100. Hiriluk is a thief turned doctor on Drum Island.

The stars are coming back Iñaki Godoy like Monkey D. Ruffy, Mackenyu like Zoro, Emily Rudd like Nami, James Romero like Usopp, Taz Skylar like Sanji, Ilia Isorelys Paulino like Alvida, Jeff Ward like Buggy, and Michael Dorman like Gold Roger.

In the series, “Monkey D. Luffy is a young adventurer who has always wanted a life of freedom. Luffy sets out from his small village on a dangerous journey to find the legendary treasure, One Piece, to become the Pirate King!

“But to find the ultimate prize, Luffy will have to assemble the crew he’s always wanted before finding a ship to set sail with, exploring every inch of the vast seas, outrunning Marines, and outsmarting dangerous rivals at every turn.”

A piece Production on the second season began about two months ago in Cape Town, South Africa.
