Tom’s Cruise is currently developing a mystery film for Warner Bros. and the film has added several new cast members.
The cast includes John Good (The right gems, the Conners), Jesse Plemons (Fargo, the Flower Moon Assassins), Sandra Huller (Anatomy of a Fall, Ave Maria Project), Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man, The Shape of Water), AND Sophie Wild (Talk to me, boy swallow the universe).
Riz Ahmed (Nimona, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) will join the project, which is written and directed by Alejandro G. Iñarritu (The Revenant).
The film will reportedly center on the most powerful man in the world, who embarks on a frantic mission to prove himself as humanity’s savior before the disaster he unleashed destroys everything.
The film’s screenplay was co-written by Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone.
Cruise has a big deal lined up at Warner Bros. and will work with the co-chairmen and CEOs of the Motion Picture Group Michael DeLuca AND Pam Abdy to develop both original feature films and franchises.
De Luca and Abdy said in a previous statement: “We are thrilled to be working with Tom, an absolute legend in the film industry. Our vision from day one has been to rebuild this iconic studio to its glory days.
“When we first sat down with David Zaslav to talk about joining the Warner Bros. Discovery team, he said, ‘We’re on a mission to bring Warner Bros. back — we have the best assets, storytelling IP and talent in the business — and we need to bring Tom Cruise back to Warner Bros.!’
“Today, that becomes a reality and we are one step closer to achieving our ambition. We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Tom back to Warner Bros. and look forward to bringing his genius to life on screen for years to come.”
Cruise said: “I have tremendous respect and admiration for David, Pam, Mike and the entire team at Warner Bros. Discovery and their commitment to movies, moviegoers and the moviegoing experience. I can’t wait to make great movies together!”
It will be interesting to see what his first film project for WB will be.
