Shout! Studios has released a full trailer for the upcoming quirky horror-comedy film Frankie Freakwhich is inspired by Freddie Freaker’s party line.
It looks like this movie is going to take audiences on an absolutely crazy and ridiculous journey and I can’t wait to jump on board and experience the craziness!
In the film, “The yuppie workaholic Conor Sweeney (protagonist of The Publisher, Father’s Day) He has a dilemma: no one in his life respects him! Not his boss, not his colleagues, not even his wife Kristina, who thinks he’s a rigid “square”!
“Conor sees no way out of this existential rut until one night, while channel surfing, he stumbles upon a bizarre ad for a party hotline manned by a strange dancing elf: FRANKIE FREAKO. Conor is enchanted by Frankie’s promises of wild and bizarre adventures, just a phone call away: could this be the recipe to spice up his tasteless life?
“Home alone for the weekend, Conor works up the courage to dial Frankie Freako’s hotline. As soon as the call connects, he unleashes CHAOS on his white-collar world, freeing Frankie and his troublemaking friends from their dimensional prison.
“It’s a race against time as Conor must defeat the rowdy thugs and put an end to their trail of destruction before Kristina returns from her trip, all while embarking on an unexpected journey of self-discovery.
The film is described as a quirky, special effects-driven horror comedy in the style of Gremlin 2 AND Ghoulies 3: The Ghoulies go to college.
The original Freddie Freaker (sometimes known as Freddy Freaker) was a character created in 1987 by LA Toys. He appeared in commercials usually seen on MTV advertising his hotline “1-900-490-FREAK” which was aimed at teenagers.
The interlocutors would have the opportunity to listen to recordings containing strange sounds, jokes, etc. or to compose their own rap songs.
