Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming film The piano lessonwhich is an adaptation of By August Wilson Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
The movie stars John David WashingtonIt was directed by his brother Malcolm Washingtonand their dad Denzel Washington produced the project. It’s a Washington family affair!
In the film, a family fight erupts over a family piano. “The battle between brother (Washington) and sister (Danielle Deewyler) — one hopes to sell it, the other refuses to give it up — reveals disturbing truths about how the past is perceived and who defines a family legacy.”
The piano lesson “explores the intergenerational dynamics of identity, resilience, and transcendence, revealing surprising truths about how we perceive the past and who is responsible for defining our legacy.
“A battle is about to break out in Charles’s house. At the center is a precious family piano that is tearing the two brothers apart. On one side, one brother plans to build the family fortune by selling it.
“On the other hand, a sister would do anything to preserve the only trace of the family legacy. Uncle (Samuel Jackson) tries to mediate, but even he can’t hold back the ghosts of the past.”
The rest of the cast includes Fisherman Ray, Michael Potts, Erykah Badu, Skylar Aleece Smith, My Girlfriend, Gail BeanAND My Friend Corey Hawkins.
It looks like a fantastic movie and will be released in select US theaters on November 8, 2024. It will then be available to stream on Netflix starting November 22.
